The Access India Initiative (AII) is a strategic twelve-month program to promote economic relations between India and Italy.
The Program
The initiative, which falls within the broader national Make in India program, aims to give a significant acceleration to business and economic-commercial development between Italy and India. This takes into consideration the following important aspects: India needs technology, know-how and skills, but approaching the Indian market as a foreign company can be a complex achievement especially for SMEs.
AII Objectives
The AII program intends to support Italian companies to better understand the characteristics of the Indian market and provide them with a platform that can assist them with their first steps in accessing the market. The initiative, conceived with a long-term perspective, is aimed at attracting on-site investments in India. Therefore, AII has the following objectives:
- help Italian companies interested in India to understand the opportunities offered by the market
- support companies in accessing the Indian market
- provide companies with all the tools needed to evaluate commercial or industrial investment in India
- creating a platform of structured relations between Italy and India able to facilitate the focus and the realization of projects in India
The program is addressed to:
Group 1: SMEs that want to open production facilities. This group will have full access to the program.
Group 2: SMEs already engaged in import-export operations with India. Only those companies with a long-term strategic vision and aiming to create on-site facilities will have access to the program.
